I should be sleeping

I spent more time today in King's Cross then I ever have before. For those who don't know it, King's Cross is the red light district of Sydney, and it was so good I was there twice in one day. The first time was to get some furniture that Laura was leaving behind because she moves out tomorrow before going home next month. Sam drove me over and we loaded a table, four chairs, two end tables and assorted kitchen ware into his car before making a pit stop at Al's convenience store (not quite Al's deli) for some Reeses (This little store is one of the only importers in Sydney).

After a brief stop at home to unload the furniture and repack Sam's car with random art and architecture supplies I hopped on a bus back to the cross to meet Lisa, Sherlee and Amy there. Tonight was Amy's last night here in Sydney before heading back to Canada by way of Hong Kong, so we were going out to dinner to celebrate. We headed to an Austrian restaurant called Una's where big portions are the norm and the food is on your table before you even finish your ordering (quite a contrast to the Peruvian restaurant we went to last week where the amazing entrees and desserts each took about half an hour after ordering). Lisa and I shared Jaeger Shnitzel (veal and mushrooms) and Beef Croquettes. The meal was great and then we all headed home.

Now its late and tomorrow morning is free transit day on all Sydney trains. Rather than study I decided a bushwalk was in order, so Lisa and I will be heading down to the Royal National Park at Otford Station on the Illawarra line for a quick hike. We have to be back in town by 4 though and some work will have to be done then. Just 3 more days till Thanksgiving (and the end of finals) and under a week till I'm back in the US.

Comments:

I think you ought to know that the United States is a warzone now that Kangaroo Jack has smuggled his way here from Australia and is carrying out boomerang terrorist attacks.

YEAH! Kings Cross is the BEST!

good food, good people, and lots of hookers. :)
