Back at camp after Janice's wedding. It was a wonderful affair with an amazing ceremony and a great party afterwards. It was nice to see all the people I haven't seen in a year or more. In some ways it is sad that it takes a wedding to get us all back together, but its expensive and hard to coordinate something like this on a regular basis. But on to the fun stuff- I got into Chicago on Friday morning and Victor picked me up at the airport. We went out to Afghan food at The Kabul House and then back to his place. That evening a bunch of the people there for the wedding went over to Nevins for a while had a beer and then walked back to Vic's place. Saturday morning I went over to Al's deli to grab lunch for possibly the last time, got my final butter cookie and said goodbye to my old apartment as I walked by. It was weird to see an air conditioning unit hanging out my old window. Then I ate, got dressed for the wedding and walked over to Alice Millar for the wedding. The brief but intimate service incorporated a number of people, including her brother on the trumpet, Caille with her solo and an 8 person choir. After the ceremony a bunch of us walked onto the lakefill and blew bobbles which wer provided at the wedding and I walked over to teh rock we had painted during senior week and got a proper picture in the daylight. Then it was off to the reception at the Newburgh Library with an open bar and lots of good food, music and dancing. Bill wrote a song for Janice which was really great and was Jancie and Rich's first dance. The night was then filled with no line dances on the playlist, and lots of line dances danced by a bunch of us who got everyone into them. Afterwards some people went off to a club to party till dawn, but others including myself went home and I got a few hours of sleep before getting up on Sunday and going down to Gino's East for pizza with a bunch of people from the wedding and then I flew home after that, catching a flight that got my home 45 minutes earlier. And then I got a ride up to camp this morning, which was much better than taking 3 trains and a cab to get up here. Back to work now!
